  •                             Pediatric  Physiotherapy
Paediatric physiotherapy is a branch of physiotherapy that deals with the motor skills delay, neurological and musculoskeletal problems of patients who are between 0 to 18 years old. They help in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of physical injuries and congenital medical conditions. The main goal of paediatric physiotherapy is to help each child reach their full potential and by helping them function as independently as possible and promote active participation in the community.
Some of the physiotherapy methods of treatment include NDT, joint mobilisation and manipulation, muscle stretching, therapeutic exercises and a lot of more methods and techniques.
Physiotherapists teach parents how to help children perform activities of daily living. They are also given instructions on how to deal with specific challenges that may arise from a child’s condition. They often work with other members of the healthcare team to provide a more holistic approach in treatment.Paediatric physiotherapy can help children with the following medical conditions:
  • Autism
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Spina bifida
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Arthrogryposis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Traumatic brain injury
